for you halo 2 "lovers"...

http://grouphug.us/confessions/417409628

I am a very sad man. I am a 16 year old boy (just turned 16) and I recently got a copy of Halo 2. It is the best game ever!

But playing the game just wasn't satisfying enough. For some strange reason I felt the urge to have sex with the disk. I lubed up my memeber and put it through the hole in the middle. It was the best masturbation I have ever had! It though because I was overly horny, I used butter as lube and now my Xbox can't read the disk. A great waste of $60!

wow, it's been a while since i posted. my uncle is looking for some development help on a new project and i figured this might be a good group to ask...have a read and if you're interested (or know someone who might be), could you drop me a line? :-)

There is a good example of something similar to what is needed at: www.work4sure.com

Under "Sample Information", click on ComponentMatching to see a sample of the results if one uses this service. The part that you can help me with is under the "Flash Demo" section.

Click on that and go through the demo.

You can also try the service with your PC by going to "Try it yourself ..." and click on
ComponentMatching and follow the rest of the instructions.

The whole thing probably takes <10 min. to browse.

The way I see it, it probably consist of 3 main parts :
1. An Web application where a user can click on and invoke an utility to scan the user's PC configuration
( setting up the session, security certificate, initiating the utility , and storing the resulting config. data,... )
2. Utility that get's the user's PC config. and put's it somewhere ( presumably a file )
3. User than send's back the config. data ( by clicking on a 2nd button, similar to the demo ).
This data will be compared to the vendor's database and spills out a list of potential
parts/products (in this case PC memory components ) that will suit the user's PC configuration.

I'm looking for anyone that may be interested in helping me with these projects.

By the way, there can be some money as an incentive.
As for the time frame, I don't have a good idea yet, I need to talk with my friend after I have the people
and I know that it can be done. But for your friend's info., it can start just about anytime.

i really need something new. something to be interested by. something to look forward to. something that makes life a little bit different than the day before. a new friend? a new hobby? a dog? i don't think material possessions will cut it. i'm just sick of the routine that my life's become and, well, sick of some of the people in it too. and the ones i'm not sick of, i'm afraid they're getting sick of me. i can't really put my finger on it. i miss jazz, spice, luster, fun, whatever you wanna call it.

maybe it's time to move to spain. :-)

am i elitist?

there are a few traits that most annoy me about people and cause me to lose interest in being friends with them almost immediately. lately, though, i'm realizing that maybe these traits are tied to how privileged an upbringing they've had, in which case, does that make me classist/elitist? here are some examples:

cheapness: i cannot stand people who are cheap with their money. whether that means not putting in enough for tax & tip at dinner, or calculating to the penny what i owe them but always rounding down to the nearest $10 when they owe me, or refusing to contribute extra to cover the birthday girl/boy's meal, it makes me sick. but i can see how being super careful with your money comes from not having much of it (either in the past or present)...

stupidity: i can't stand people who lack general common sense. like the girl who works at the pearl milk tea store. i like my tea less sweet than standard, so i asked her to mix one ladle of the unsweetened stuff with one ladle of the sweetened stuff. every time, she looks puzzled, claims she's not sure if she's allowed to do that, and i end up settling for the sweet stuff. but i can see how being not-that-sharp can come from not having the privilege of a good education, or not growing up in a family that valued education and placed challenging expectations upon you...

inappropriateness: people who never say the right thing, especially when you don't know them well, are hard for me to put up with. i don't tolerate racism, outright classist behavior, etc. when it's in the wrong context (ie: when you're not joking). but i can see how being crude or inappropriate stems from not having a family that taught you what you should and should not say starting from a young age...

egotism: people who can't stop saying how great they are...UGH! talk about the fastest way to fall off the list of people i enjoy hanging out with. don't brag to me about your grades, your car, your job, your clothes, or anything else. as i get to know you better, i'm sure i'll get to know those things about you, if they're true. much like the point about inappropriateness, though, i can also see how this trait could be the result of not learning humility from your family, or being/feeling so inferior that you feel like you have to prop yourself up...

anyway. i was thinking about that on the drive home tonight. and it made me wonder if i'm unfairly discriminatory about the type of friends i like to keep. thoughts?

this morning, sitting on the foot of my bed, i discovered that i have wireless access. only 14% signal strength, but hey, it works for me. it's tempermental, though...i can't move downstairs or into another room or even to the head of my bed. still, one of my neighbors must've left their network unencrypted. yay for mooching! if only i could figure out WHO it is, i'd buy them an amplifier and offer to pay part of their monthly fees. i'm so confused, though, because i can't get any high speed access at my place. unless maybe they installed a dedicated t1 or something?

my birthday party...

mad props to melba & shaomai, who planned an *awesome* birthday shin dig for me on friday nite...

dinner @ buzz 9 / drinks @ cloud 9...
a non-freezing nite in the city...
the company of my wonderful friends...
gifts: dishes from crate&barrel, sbux gift card, WACOM TABLET, and new bag...
5 girls chillin' on the revolving vinyl couch...
laughing at some guy trying to get his mack on...
having a generally chill but AWESOME time...
jeff's car getting broken into, purse stolen...

HAHA, yeah, you read that right. as we all hugged goodnight and walked back to jeff's car, we saw that his passenger vent window was smashed through, there was glass all over the back seat...a list of what was missing:

jeff's ashtray, along with the ~$50 in coins it contained...
jeff's gym bag with nike clothes & his FAVORITE new balances...
my purse...
my wallet (all my credit cards, bank cards, insurance cards, a $600 costco gift card, and more)...
my cell phone...
my brand new digital camera...
my house keys...
my office keys...
my CAR KEYS...
some other stuff i don't remember now...

BUT WORST OF ALL...
hunter, my baby hippo.

NO, i'm REALLY not kidding. fortunately, the idiots didn't steal his laptop or any of my birthday presents. we drove to the police station & jeff filed a police report while i frantically called my bank & all of my credit card companies to put stops on the accounts. i was pretty much on the phone from 2am - 5am, which is when we got home. i spent all day saturday and sunday running errands and piecing my life back together. i'm less than halfway through but with time, it'll all come together.

aside from that, i seriously had the BEST time friday nite.

cold blooded...

shaomai and i decided today it would be preferable to be cold-blooded animals instead of warm-blooded. we'd never have to worry about being cold and, whenever it's time to have kids, we could just lay an egg or two and be done with it. doesn't that just seem so much more convenient?

in other news, it's playmakers & nip/tuck night. wahoozle!!

shaomai, mesyeux, and i had bbq for lunch. like real texas bbq...ribs, hotlinks, and potato salad, except it was made by these two little asian ladies. sorta surreal; i was expecting billy bob and sally maye. (haha, ok, maybe that's SLIGHTLY stereotypical) it was super tasty, though. YUMS.

weird ain't it?

how your perception of an action, statement, gift, etc. is completely dependent upon the person doing/saying/giving it? i got a lava lamp as a birthday present today from someone who i have a running joke with about lava lamps. it was totally thoughtful & nice (and looks cool in my office) but b/c he's developed an inappropriate obsession for me lately, it was so difficult for me to be genuinely stoked about the present & appreciate the gesture. i feel badly for being mean to him sometimes because i think he has good intentions, but i just can't shake the shady feelings i pick up...
